My favorite ROM for HTC Kaiser / TyTN II

Actually, my favorite ROM (what contains the best content / speed value) is the last PDACorner mount released this february 5 2009 !

This one includes the content of the future HTC IOLITE, a Windows Mobile 6.5 version (stable I believe), and the fastest and the most performant ROM I've try!

This ROM also includes the sweet and beautiful Manila 2D interface, the 3D drivers, a lot of games and applications, overall with 115 Mo RAM free !!!!

Some nice freeware for Pocket PC

Some "nice" freeware that I could find by browsing lists of applications available for my HTC Kaiser, I put at your disposal!

* WifiLocations : "Economic" application : enough to activate the Wifi when you enter an area designated by your GSM / UMTS .. Totally free and no GPS need! Use for example at home.

* TaskFacade : Task mannager very effective, to associate with a PPC's key for example! Daily using, I believe..

* MortButtons : Push on ONE touch of your Pocket PC, and a menu to allows you to choose from a list of application definited by you! Very useful.

* Opera 9.51 : Surf on the net like the iPhone (based on touch), very powerful, with powerful download manager!

* Locr : Geotagging with photo taking, very powerful with photo sending on the server, totally automatical.. See the dedicated tutorial

* GpsEd : Trace your GPS way, upload it to your computer or on the server!

* GPS Speed Sentry : GPS speed monitor, with a lot of others options!

* Manilla Dialer V2 : Phone skin, very beautiful and fast!

* FEWidgets : Nice home screen customizable and with widgets (Samsung Omnia-like), warning, it requires Flash 7 available here !

* TouchResponse : Does vibrates the screen to the pressure on the touch screen! That is pretty cool, and can confirm that your support on the touch screen has been taken, for example in a virtual keyboard! Useful.

* S2U2 : Allows you to unlock your Pocket PC like the iPhone, by sliding on touch screen! That is for me very useful.. And more, perfect integration of S2P audio player!

* S2P : Audio player seems as iPhone player, integrated to S2U2! Albums, thumbnails,.. everything is in! And it is reactive.

* S2V : Touch gallery, also useful to link wallpapers to S2U2!

Install Windows 3.x with DOSBox

1. Regroup contenu of disquettes Windows 3.x disks in the SAME directory (ex. c:/doswin/win3x)

2. Make a directory that will serve as a hard disk for your emulator (ex. c:/doshdd)

3. Start DOSBox, then enter following commands :
# mount c c:/doshdd
# mount d c:/doswin/win3x

4. We access now the content of disks and proceed with the installation :
# d:
# cd win3x
# cd install

5. The installation process is now very easy to continue, I recommand STANDARD installation and not CUSTOM ! All settings can be optimized in the future from Windows itself..

6. Close DOSBox, then restart Windows 3.x :
# mount c c:/doshdd
# c:
# cd windows
# win

NB : for any question about these process and/or installation process, feel free to post a comment there!

I advise you to download different versions of Windows 3.x by registering on the website http://www.win3x.org/ !

Geotagging on your Symbian or Windows Mobile with GPS chip (or not)

The fast send through your Smartphone on internet, geotagged, is now available with the Locr software.

Available for smartphones under Symbian and Windows Mobile systems, you can directly send your photos over the Locr servers..
Your account is limited by 100 mb storage, what is really not bad when you know that a Locr's taken picture takes approximately 0,15 mb for an 3 megapixels device under WM6.1!!

Another bonus : you will even dont need to take pictures with the software, but you also geotag any pictures previously taken by device and then upload!
Also, even with a missing GPS chip or external GPS, the software is capable to refer your position via your web connection!

Now we download it : http://fr.locr.com/downloads
